Interview: Death & Legacy

Recently, DutchMetalManiac’s Tim van Velthuysen interviewed Death & Legacy.

Hey, how are you?

Fine thank you, It is a pleasure to talk with you and your fans.

Can you tell us something about the history of Death & Legacy?

We started in 2013, in Zamora (Spain). We were friends many years ago, playing in other bands, but sometimes in the same festivals, stages, etc. We wanted to play together because we love the same music, some jokes. It is very funny for us. So, we started like a new band. We recorded one EP and three albums. Our most recent release is our third album INF3RNO. It is a complete concept art, lyric, music, artwork, which tries to explain why there are too many hells in the world, not only the catholic hell, but also heaven, earth, society, human race, our mind, ourselves.

For people not knowing Death & Legacy (yet), how would you describe your music yourself?

We always said that we play melodic metal, because ‘it is metal and it is melodic’, but to be honest, now, with the new singer Hynphernia, we in fact sound more close to melodic death metal.

When someone doesn’t know Death & Legacy yet and you can choose one of your songs to present yourself, which song would that be?

I think the single of the last album, called SALVATION represents the current reality of the band.

What makes Death & Legacy unique?

Every band and music has an unique sound, soul and passion. The mix of growls/melodic voices and classic and modern music is our label.

Any future plans you can already tell us something about?

To continue to promote our last album INF3RNO and we hope to tour worldwide with it as soon as possible.

Any upcoming gigs for Death & Legacy? Maybe coming to The Netherlands?

Will be a pleasure and a honor to play sometime in The Netherlands. I hope it will be as soon as possible.

How do you think your life would be without music?

This is impossible for me, sad, bored, for me and for the human race.

What advice would you give to young and starting bands?

Never surrender, work very hard for your dreams.

Thanks for your answers! Is there anything you want to say to DutchMetalManiac’s readers?

Thank you very much for your support.
